Up all night, Sleep all day

This shoot had so many hurtles, I think if it wasn't for the perfect combination of people on the team it would have been disastrous!
Night time shoots are always challenging because everyone's energy is never as high as during the day but to add on to that issue it was also a rainy night. Talk about draaaaag. After a lot of initial confusion and everyone getting situated It was actually an amazingly funny night!

The concept was insomnia, specifically how everything  seems to get more and more outlandish the further into sleep depravation you get.

I can not stress how amazing Christine is as a model, her personality and energy are amazing to have in the mix at a shoot. Beyond that I can always count on her to be willing to try any of my crazy ideas and look amazing while doing it!

As it happens, we were all pretty sleep deprived by the end of this one. During the clean up and drive home we had all reached that wonderful part of exhaustion where absolutely EVERYTHING is funny. I guess this shoot was more in the vein of method acting... we were actually sleep deprived so we could relate completely to our subject matter!

Spotlight: Christine Keenan

Anyone that has heard me talk about or seen my photographs of her know that I have the biggest girl crush on Christin Keenan. She has braved fire, black lights, and lacerations to help create some of the most breathtaking and memorable images in my portfolio. Often when I have doubts about pulling off a shot because of logistical or time contraints she is the one urging me on.

I think the fact that our first shoot together was my most intricate shoot at that point was miraculous gift of fate. That day she dealt with strange and incredibly specific poses, really bazaar accessories, and long hours. But that's when I knew I had my girl ;-)

On my last trip to Boston we were finally able to get together and do a low key shoot; just friends hanging out, taking photos. Rose's boyfriend Rick has a trunk of studded vests, leather jackets, cuffs and other delightful things that he graciously allowed us to fawn over. A gleaming treasure trove of stage clothes and punk rock relics were our playthings for the day and some of our all time favorite things.

After our shoot Christine put me on the guest list for her show, because unlink me, she is a rock star in real life. ;-) I have to say she does not disappoint, she is as much of a fire cracker on stage as she is in front of the camera.

Christine, you rock my world!

In the night, We hear the call

Anyone that has photographed Christine Keenan from Maggie can tell you that she is a force to be reckoned with on set, my favorite kind of model ( and my favorite type of girl!) She is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot and she has shown me an incredible amount of trust on numerous occasions, especially this shoot!

At this point it is a joke between makeup artist Rose Fortuna, Christine, and I that eventually we will do a shoot where we don't cover her face in some crazy, all consuming makeup. But, to tell you the truth, she is one of the only models I trust to carry a shoot where your face is being covered. You have to really emote and push your gestures and Christine is amazing at that. So thank you Christine for having a little faith with these images and I can't wait to see you again!

Blacklight is one crazy mama' jama'.

This is what friends do, cover each other in paint and feathers.
We got a little silly; I mean come on, we are in tribal paint.

Ke$sha eat your heart out!
