I had to go to New York City for the day to have an interview with fashion photographer Ruven Afanador. Ailuj and WinteR came along for the day so after my interview (which was an absolutely amazing experience) we were able to walk around the city and show Ailuj some of the sites. We were also able to meet up with the talented Yasutaké Kosaka.

Alexander McQueen is a man whose personality and designs have inspired the world. Personally I have never been so touched by the sheer life force of another creative person. The exhibition of his work at the MET in New York was the single most visceral experience of art I have ever had. McQueen was never limited himself in inspiration and is one of the few in the fashion industry that simply let his emotions guide him and demanded that everyone else follow.
I hope I get the chance to see it one more time before it finishes in August, but for those of you who won't have the chance I offer a sample.

Jesse, Pattie and I took a day trip to NYC to explore and do some scouting. While we were walking around Soho I saw this amazingly talented street vender Castro (http://www.castronyc.com/).
He hand makes these unique pieces of jewelry that were great I just had to pick up something for myself. I bought a leather cuff with metal ring appliqués and feather embellishments. I loooooove it! I can't wait to show it off when I get home.
He had some other stunning leather cuff bracelets as well as some beautiful rings and necklaces so check him out if you are in Soho or take a look at his website he has some amazing stuff.
